Temple Words and Music by Samson Bedford 4.01.09 VOLCANOES I can’t feel my heart Though I hear it beating I suffered in my desert, rare rain never satisfied Desire left me hollow, I’d guessed but I’d like to try The starry nights so barren, alone many comforts fake Where is my salvation and what form will my saviour take Over two hills I wandered, each peak red rocks and a tweak My mind painted a mirage, not fooled I toiled through the heat Down a slender ravine, a cave and a burning bush Behold I found my Venus, there’s water here my thirst was touched A temple in the desert boy Sparks on every nerve Find your function show your grace Love is such a learning curve Illusive temple I have found Secrets of your scroll She’ll put the man inside of me Quick of the tongue I should know I can feel my heart Woman is the answer I can feel my heart Woman is the way She took me on a mission, the moon high and full that night Round and round we tumbled, no cease to her apatite I learned she is electric, a force fathoms deeper yet The seed am I the land is she is we most combine lest I forget She said show your love I showed her my love and it was good She said show your love I showed her my love and I must admit it was a little bit scarey at first, we took off all clothes and it was kind of freaky Night times tremble, oh I found my temple Day times cuddle, oh I worship here Night times tremble, oh I found my temple Day times cuddle, oh I love you dear I’ve got so much to study, female my mystery Across the Universe, oh you set me free I’ve got so much to study, girl you’re the sweetest fruit And I will love you louder I see no end, no end, now I’ve found my youth

What You Came For Music and lyrics by Sam Bedford 17.1.09 VOLCANOES My friends Are not what they seem through a distant eye They laugh and push like that lot But there’s trouble in their skulls and the gang divides We get out Yeah we hit it hard under the weekends kiss But it’s getting edgy Look who has returned in the search for kicks What you came for There’s no name for Moving in with weird effect I’ve seen your likes before how could I forget My mates Have acquired a certain grin for this time of night He’s got them in his grip now There is no other way much to his delight Yeah we get out We get out but it’s not my ride My 19th year repeating I’ve seen this fall apart on the other side What you came for There’s no name for Moving in with weird effect Working round me And as you’re carried away, Be careful not to spread it out There’s no confidence that we can hack Curious, but not I’ve scars if I react

Oliver Charles Darwin Words and melody Samson Bedford VOLCANOES I’m never alone But it aint that great He puts a funky thought in my head And then I’m running around in a figure of eight Singing Oliver Charles Darwin is here Ah ha Another dirty day Though I commit no crime I’ve got the guilt of a murderer No I can’t relax when he’s by my side Singing Oliver Charles Darwin is here With an uneasy smile now nothing is clear Ah ha Don’t you want to check I’ll feel at ease if we retrace our steps He left me searching through clues but there’s a million assaults of the facts Oh Oliver D Have we been terrorising you and me Oh you’ve lead me astray and I’m to blame for that I don’t know what I’ve done but I must go back I must go back Oliver tapping on my window pain He can make my brain strange Oliver Charles Darwin Oliver tapping on my window pain He can make my brain strange Oliver Charles Darwin I’m never alone But it aint that great He puts a funky thought in my head And then I’m running around in a figure of eight Singing Oliver Charles Darwin is here With an uneasy smile now nothing is clear You’ve lead me astray and I’m to blame for that He knows I’m feeling the worst so I must go back I must go back

Making Progress Music by Samson Bedford Volcanoes Don’t get any ideas young me, you wont get nothing no matter how you’re sounding Banging out tunes forever and a day, just singing to yourself in different surroundings But you didn’t listen and neither did your friends, had few practices and formed band 4 bands later and a change of drummer, 208 broken strings and a sore hand I don’t feel like I’m making progress Bottom of the food chain bottom of the bill No you wont hear this coz we didn’t make progress Not on the radio, in my Bedroom still Out go the demos a million dreams, we wait by our phones but there’s nothing vibrating Nothing gets plugged coz we’re not popular, we aint got a buzz - so I guess we’ll be waiting Still we got a review good old Sandman, looks like we’re hotly tipped And that review was short and sweet, you’ll never get far because your music’s shit I don’t feel like I’m making progress Bottom of the food chain bottom of the bill No you wont hear coz we didn’t make progress Not on the radio, in my Bedroom still Nice we’ve got a gig with a touring band A Leadmill night and we might be discovered We’ve had to sell 50 tickets for the pleasure Our friends are skint and we don’t do covers No soundcheck and we can’t borrow kit Headliners late and another band squeezed Yet the crowd do us proud at 7.30 To bad we played at 6.15
